We didn't buy our way onto any list. We didn’t even know we were being considered. Real people showed up for our cocktails and escape room, and kept telling their friends.

MY LOVE LETTER TO SAN FRANCISCO

I built Lore to help remind people why they love San Francisco—a city that welcomes you, energizes you, and leaves just enough magic behind to keep you looking. I’ve always believed that friendship and shared adventure have the power to move mountains—and maybe even bend time. From mysteries you cannot solve on your own (or even with four people!) to a menu inspired by my childhood in Vietnam and my years growing up in the most diverse zip code in America, I hope Lore brings out the kinds of conversations you’ve been waiting to have. I hope you play. And laugh. I hope you meet someone new… and that you’ll plan new adventures together (that would make me so happy). I just hope something here stays with you, long after you leave.

After much hoping of my own and many, many trips to the DBI—I’m proud to say my dream has come true. Thank you for following my journey, and for all the kindness you’ve shown me along the way. You are magic.

There's a certain sense of creativity and passion that felt lost from San Francisco for the longest time, but the owner of Lore has managed to create what is arguably the most unique, immersive experience at a cocktail lounge that I've seen to-date. Our cocktails were quite mystical and well-presented. My partner and I agreed this is probably the best cocktail lounge we've been to in a long time.

Stepped into Lore SF and wow… it's part speakeasy, part escape room, and all kinds of magic. Think Alice in Wonderland with cocktails inspired by childhood snacks + savory twists you'd never expect. One of the most unique nights I've had in SF and will definitely be back for the Tom Kha cocktails.

Before going into the escape room I had two drinks, the wagyu old fashioned and a dealer's choice which was the most delicious godfather drink I think I've ever had. Inside the game there were drinks as well which were part of the story and made our experience really interactive. The staff was extremely friendly and the atmosphere couldn't have been better. It truly felt like being in a fairytale.
